H. Keith Thompson

Keith Thompson brings 27 years of real estate experience to Avison Young, most recently as the founding principal of Hotel AG. During his career, he has been involved in approximately 1,000 hotel transactions. Thompson began his career in 1980 on the food and beverage side of the industry, progressing into real estate ownership by 1988 and into the brokerage side of hotel real estate by 1990. He has earned many sales awards through the years and is often asked to speak at hospitality conferences and has written many published articles for the hospitality industry. He is an active member of Eagles Landing Baptist Church and has been a deacon for 29 years.

Keith has been married for over 35 years, has two daughters ages 30 and 26, and two granddaughters ages four and one. He attends Eagles Landing Baptist Church and has been a Deacon for over 25 years.  Keith’s favorite pastimes include cycling, wakeboarding, water skiing and muscle cars.

Brad Sinclair - Vice President

 Brad Sinclair brings nine years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young, most recently as co-president of Hotel AG. He commenced his hotel brokerage career in 2007 when he helped Keith Thompson form the company. While at Hotel AG, he focused on investor relations, client database, branding and marketing, property analysis and the overall growth strategy of the firm. Prior to his time with Hotel AG, he was a pastor to college-age young adults at a local non-denominational church. Sinclair is actively involved in the community through several non-profit charities and a local church. He attended Clayton State University.

Brad is married and lives with his wife and two daughters in South Atlanta. He sits on the board of a non-profit organization, enjoys leading musical worship at church, watching movies, reading books, working in the yard, and traveling with his wife and children.


Andrew Broad

Andrew Broad has compiled more than 20 years in the commercial real estate industry, including 15+ years in the hotel brokerage sector. Prior to joining Avison Young, he was a co-president with Hotel AG, where he developed a proven track record in hotel brokerage.  Andrew also has extensive experience with third-party hotel management contracts and brand development. In 2007, he was named one of Real Estate New Jersey’s Broker All-Stars. Between mid-year 2015 and year-end 2016, he was involved personally in the sale of more than 40 hotels, including assets in the Mid-Atlantic, Upper Midwest, Southeast and Southwest U.S. regions. Andrew was recently a Member of the Board of Directors of Morgans Hotel group; a position that was relinquished upon the sale of MHGC in late 2016.  Broad is a graduate of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.

Wendy Blissett began her career in commercial real estate with an Atlanta-based hotel brokerage firm in 1994, concentrating on client relations, sales support, and hotel market research. After five years, Wendy took a position as operations manager for a company providing Web-based software solutions for the corporate real estate industry. In 2001, she returned as a hotel broker where she has been involved in nearly every type and size of disposition transactions. Wendy holds a wide range of experience in individual hotel assets, as well as complicated portfolio transactions valued over $100 million. She is a graduate of Georgia State University and holds the prestigious CCIM industry designation.

Michael Bernath

Michael Bernath brings 10 years of hospitality real estate experience to Avison Young, most recently as a partner with Hotels AG. Since joining Hotel AG as a broker in 2009, Bernath has helped clients execute on a wide array of single-asset and portfolio hotel transactions across the continental U.S. Prior to joining Hotel AG, Bernath served as the vice-president of acquisitions and finance for Peachtree Hotel Group, LLC. While at Peachtree, he focused on investor relations, sourcing new acquisitions, securing financing for new acquisition and new construction projects, and market analysis. He began his career in the hospitality industry as assistant vice-president of originations for Moody National Companies in Dallas, focusing on securing debt financing for third-party hoteliers.

Bernath sits on the Board for the Triple Play Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to using sports to promote education, health and community service to at-risk youths in the Atlanta and Athens areas. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in economics from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.


Chris Stark

Chris Stark joins Avison Young as Principal after six years as a partner with Hotel AG, where he applied a diverse background in hotel franchise development, finance and marketing. Chris has been involved in the analysis or disposition of over $1 Billion in hospitality assets nationally and internationally and specializes in the sale of hotel portfolios and institutional quality assets throughout the country. Stark began his career in hospitality real estate as part of the franchise development team for Choice Hotels International. In that role, he travelled to every state west of Nebraska, identifying hotel sites and conversion properties for major brands, including Ascend Collection. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong understanding of hotel branding, market dynamics and the hotel development process. He is an active member of his church and volunteers regularly with several local Portland area non-profits.

Collin Foran

Collin Foran’s career spans over 28 years that included several key senior positions with such industry leaders as Marriott, Interstate Hotels and Mass Mutual. In his first 15 years with Marriott and Interstate Hotels, he utilized his core fiduciary strengths accepting assignments to turnaround distressed hotels for a number of high profile properties.

 During his tenure as Vice President – Asset Management & Acquisitions with Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors (wholly-owned subsidiary of Mass Mutual), he was responsible to source, underwrite and successfully closed on approximately $800 million in institutional grade acquisitions on behalf of the Mass Mutual General Fund. As part of his Asset Management duties, he oversaw a mult-million dollar portfolio that included Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton flags as well as a number of independent conference resorts and boutique hotels in the United States and Canada. As Chief Executive Officer for a growing west coast hotel portfolio, Collin guided the boutique hotel company through successful expansion efforts that included the acquisition and re-development of the Santa Monica – Viceroy.

Collin has two children: Marissa age 12 and Joseph age 10. Collin is active in his children's charter school volunteer program as well as a number of community affiliations, most notably offering his time in the local library’s Children’s Reading Program. Collin’s favorite pastimes include participation in ice hockey, tennis and golf.


Bill Bowen

Bill Bowen has been a licensed real estate professional specializing in hotels since 1974 and currently serves as an Senior Hospitality Broker at Avison Young. During his tenure in the hotel industry, he has performed significant brokerage and acquisition services for clients. His hotel experience began in 1973 in the Days Inn organization where he became a managing partner and senior officer of the company. His experience includes hotel acquisitions, construction, development, financing, management, and franchise operations. Since 1985, he has developed and managed hotels for his account, partnerships, joint ventures and third parties. Bill has a deep background in the formation, operation, and recapitalization of hotel partnerships and is the senior officer in a number of hotel entities.

Bill and his wife Sandy reside on a family farm near Tifton, Georgia. They attend the Enigma United Methodist Church where they lead Sunday School and youth programs. Bill is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys traditional archery, hunting, sailing, riding horses, and flying. He has been a private pilot (MEL/ Instruments) since 1976.

Niven began his real estate career out of high school where he interned at Grubb & Ellis. After college, he joined Marcus & Millchap where after 3 years at was promoted to Senior Associate and finished in the top 5 in the country for hotel brokerage. Most recently Niven was a partner at Hotel Assets Group for 4 years.

Rex Cagle

Prior to joining Avison Young, Rex Cagle was a Partner and Associate Broker of Hotel Assets Group LLC, he has over 13 years Lead Broker experience in the hotel industry.  He is a graduate of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a minor in Real Estate.  Previously, Rex was the owner of a commercial real estate company that developed, owned, and managed retail shopping centers and five restaurants.  He was responsible for all aspects of acquisition, construction, property management, leasing and daily operations.  Rex has 32 years of diverse finance and real estate experience including time spent in commercial banking and the securities industry formerly holding FINRA Series 6, Series 63, Series 65 licenses and two insurance licenses.  Rex currently holds active Real Estate Broker licenses in 9 States

Eric Gunderson

Eric Gunderson brings to Avison Young nine years of commercial real estate experience, with a focus on the hospitality sector. He was most recently a partner with Hotel AG. Prior to joining Hotel AG, Gunderson started the Northern California hospitality group at Cassidy Turley in San Francisco. He is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California and focuses on all aspects of hospitality real estate, including tourist hotels, SRO hotels and development sites, with an emphasis on California and the Western U.S. Gunderson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Rick George

A 25 year veteran of the hospitality business, Rick has been involved in all facets of the transaction and development process including asset valuation, acquisition, disposition, land development, financing and branding. In July 2014, he opened the Chicago office for Keith Thompson and Hotel Assets Group where he has focused on single asset and portfolio transactions in the Midwest and US as a whole.

A graduate of Cornell University, Rick joined a national hotel brokerage firm in 2003 as a principal owner and partner in charge of its Chicago and Los Angeles offices. During his tenure, Rick helped build and train the human capital infrastructure of the firm, while focusing on transactions from the lower to the upper mid-market segments, as well as capital markets production and debt placement. In addition to revenue production, Rick was also responsible for the macro management of the firm’s brand, national client marketing efforts, technology, and personnel management in the field.

Earlier in Rick’s career he held senior positions at Intercontinental Hotels (IHG) as the Director of Franchise Sales and Development for the West North Central region of the U.S. and Wyndham Hotels, as the Regional Vice President of Franchise Sales and Development and as Managing Director for Hotel Partners.

A graduate of the University of Virginia (Civil Engineering), he is fluent in French, conversational in Spanish, and specializes on brokering sales, leasing and development transactions of full service and luxury historic, independent and boutique hotel properties.

Having traveled extensively both domestically and internationally, Thierry loves to travel and all that it brings including making new friends and visiting old, exploring historic sites, staying in premiere hotels, and sampling new foods. He also enjoys attending music festivals, golfing, basketball, tae kwon do and scuba diving. He is married to Sheila Raebel, who aside from her full-time job, operates two pet related businesses (Dogma Dog Bakery) and works on behalf of numerous pet related charities and rescue organizations. They live in Arlington, VA with their “dog-der” Bailey.

Following his 14+ tenure as the first full time Executive Director of Historic Hotels of America, Thierry was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Preferred Hotels & Resorts, operator of the brand owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He is a graduate of the Institutes for Organizational Management at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is now pursuing his CCIM certification.

Chelsea Wang joined Avison Young in January 2017 as a member of the hospitality group. Formerly a Partner at Hotel Assets Group, Chelsea specialized in franchised and independent hotel acquisitions and development opportunities. With a legal background in real estate transactions and business immigration, Chelsea has in-depth experience in hotel sales transactions and working with foreign investors. Chelsea also served as an In-House Counsel for over six years providing consultation in hotel management, contract negotiation and acquisitions.

 Being a licensed California commercial real estate broker for over five years, the focus of Chelsea’s practice is franchised/independent hotel acquisitions, new construction and foreign investment development.

 Chelsea is fluent in Chinese Mandarin and has extensive experience working with foreign investors from Asia. Chelsea earned her double degrees of Bachelor of Science & Arts in Biochemistry and Philosophy from the University of California, Davis and a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law, California with an emphasis on High-Tech Intellectual Property law. 

Chelsea lives in San Francisco Bay area with her family. She loves nature, hiking, reading and cooking. She services the local communities by providing pro-bono services to underprivileged clients.

Terry Sanders

Terry is a 20-year veteran of the hotel industry who most recently played a key role in the growth of Wyndham Hotel Group’s U.S. portfolio of hotels. Holding various positions during his career at Wyndham, Terry’s most recent role from 2009 to 2015 was as Senior Vice President of Development for Franchised and Managed Hotels for the U.S., as well as Western Canada. While at Wyndham, Terry was responsible for generating over $500 million in ongoing franchised and management fees. He joined Wyndham Hotel Group in 2002 and was elevated from franchise sales director to senior vice president in only 7 years. Prior to Wyndham, Terry was a partner at DDS Capital Group where he was a feasibility and development consultant. While at DDS Capital Group, Terry created feasibility templates for the hospitality, gas station c-store and office industries. He also completed over 50 feasibility studies and loan brokerage packages. Terry began his hotel career in 1997 with HFS, Inc., which became Cendant, as a franchise sales director.



Jay Mitchell

 Matt is Originally from Dalton, GA.  After his undergraduate work at the University of North Georgia, Matt received a Master of Arts from East Tennessee State University and spent time as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Georgia.  Matt enjoys cycling, hunting, wakeboarding, and motocross in his spare time.  He and his wife live in Locust Grove, GA.

Tracy has 26 years of experience in the hospitality industry and worked in Event Management and Sales for a number of hotels and conference centers in the greater Atlanta area including the Atlanta Airport Marriott Hotel and the Westin Atlanta Airport Hotel.

Jeremy joined Avison Young in January 2017 and with him he brought over 17 years of IT/Graphic Design/Marketing experience spanning multiple diverse industries. Prior to joining Avison Young, Jeremy worked as a Storage Engineer for a partner provider of NetApp Storage Systems. His roles included servicing/implementing data storage solutions in the Eastern U.S. region for clients such as Coke, Delta, and BMW. He brings this unique mix of personal and professional experience to Avison Young as a IT/Marketing Coordinator.

Jeremy has received several industry certifications including his NetApp Certified Data Administrator – Cluster mode (NCDA), Associate Storage Engineer (ASE) Levels II & III.

In his spare time, Justin enjoys reading, listening to music, attending concerts and sporting events, and traveling. He is also a fan of Atlanta sports teams, as well as the University of West Georgia and the University of Georgia football teams.
